Kindermusik Village "Dream Pillow"

The title alone evokes images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep, but leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities. Babies and Adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance in "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland" and also play age-appropriate instruments to "Aiken Drum," and "Sarasponda." Favorite nursery rhymes like "Wee Willie Winkie," and "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling," are sprinkled throughout, making it easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your family's daily routines.

Home Materials: CD of beautifully arranged songs from class, Dream Pillow story book sure to become a family favorite, a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall, and a baby-safe instrument for music-making at home.

Kindermusik Village "Zoom Buggy"

Downtown Taipei: Mondays, 11:10 AM, beginning Oct 29th, 2012
Session length: 8 weeks @ Zhongxiao/Fuxing

Tianmu: Thursdays, 9:15 and 11:15 AM, beginning Nov 1st, 2012
Session length: 6 weeks at the Center

Swoosh, vroom, and clickety-clack your way through this delightful theme. Babies and adults will dance, sing, and play instruments to the theme of being on the go. Chug around the room to the song "Little Red Caboose," hold on tightly while "Riding in the Buggy," and dance your way to "Zoom-e-oh!" You'll also engage in rituals and playful activities, including intentional touch (also known as infant massage), lap bounces, finger plays, creative movement, vocal play, and more. I'll show you how you can make the most of these musical experiences with your baby as we share them together in class and you extend them at home.

Home Materials: A picture board book of different vehicles, a CD of the songs and rhymes heard in class, an instrument for music-making at home, and a set of art banners for the nursery wall.

Fall 2012 Our Time for 18 months to 3-1/2 years

Make everyday home activities and chores easier and more fun with music! Cook and sing to "The Muffin Man"; dust and clean up to the original song "In My House"; get ready to do the laundry to the delightful poem "Washing Machine". Baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping and making tea are all represented in familiar as well as new songs. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1 ½ to 3-year-olds.

Class length: 50 minutes
Session length: 15 weeks (12 at the Center)

Age Range: Infants to 5 years
Class Structure: 1 class/week, 15 weeks/semester
Class length: 50 minutes
Class Size: Up to ten children in class accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Home Materials: NT1800* per semester
*Kangaroo puppets not included, Family Time tote bag for first-time families

Our Kind of Day — Music time isn't just at music class, it's all day long! What better way to build family bonds than to sprinkle music and movement throughout playtime, mealtime, clean-up time, bath time, and nighttime? With catchy songs such as "Wishy, Washy, Wee" for bath time, "Go Into the Kitchen" for mealtime, and "Love Somebody" at bedtime, parenting becomes easier and a lot more fun! Over the course of 15 weeks, each lesson is packed with singing, group dances, instrument exploration, play-alongs, story time, creative movement, family jams, and sharing.

Fall 2012, ABC Music & Me for 2 - 3 years

Time: Mondays @ 10:00 Taipei City
Age Range: Age 2 to 3 years
Class Structure: Monthly theme, 4 themes/semester
Class Length: 50 minutes
Class Size: Up to eight children in class accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Tuition: NT500 per class, payable at the start of the semester (16 weeks)
Home Materials: NT450/month, NT1800/semester

Theme: Time For Lunch
This month we’ll talk about food, from milk and cookies to healthy vegetables. We will learn about vegetable names, read about “The Gingerbread Man,” and move like the Gingerbread Man to rhythms from drum sounds. At home you can extend learning and vocabulary by using the activities and Home CD to dance like a carrot-loving donkey, sizzle like a sausage, and flip pancakes.

Theme: Rhyme Around Town
You and your child will enjoy using your imaginations (and rhyming-words awareness) to hit the town—down the street to the bake shop, the cobbler’s shop, the grocery store, and even the doctor's office. Then home again to relax and get ready for bed. At home with your Family Guide magazine, you will explore the town pretending to be cats, dogs, ducks, and more as you develop your child's language and motor skills.

Theme: Colors and Shapes on the Farm
In this unit, we will take a trip to the farm and encounter colors as shapes as we explore haystacks and hayrides, barns, and lots (and lots) of animals. A musical storytime with Jenny Jenkins will wrap it all together as the farm animals suggest their favorite colors for Jenny to wear.

Theme: Marvelous Me
This month we'll cover pattern games and body awareness from head to toe. In class we'll listen for patterns and repeated phrases in the music, which develops your child’s early math skills and self-esteem. When you play the same pattern seeking games at home that we played in class, your toddler's confidence and skill building will grow.
